We are all on a journey.
Sometimes we need help navigating.
My Approach to Therapy
Life can throw all kinds of difficult challenges and transitions at us. Sometimes when we least expect it. We all face so many pressures in our day to day lives, whether you are taking care of small children, struggling in your marriage, or even finding it difficult to get through the day to day. We all need help sometimes. It is brave and courageous to seek out help.
My approach to therapy puts you in the driver seat. You are the expert in your own life. I am here to help you navigate through difficult emotions, relationships, and attachments and to help give you the tools to live your best life.
I utilize many evidence based modalities in my practice, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I believe that our relationship as client and therapist is one of the most powerful tools to drive changes in your life. I also utilize humor as a tool of working through and coping with life’s most difficult challenges.
I have experience working a variety of different settings, including Victim Services at a local Police Department, Intensive Outpatient Programs for mental health/substance use disorders, and Livestrong’s Navigation Center for cancer patients and caregivers.
It would be a joy and an honor to help you to navigate through whatever life challenges you may be facing.
“Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weakness."
